to more than one hundred companies, including a dozen of the Fortune 50 and numerous smaller firms both
public and privately-held.
Bob joined Kaiser Associates, Inc., a management consulting firm, as its third employee in 1982. He became
Chairman and CEO in 1985, and during the next decade and a half grew the company into a worldwide firm with
150 employees and offices in Washington, London, Capetown, Sao Paolo, Seoul, New York, and San Francisco. After
fifteen years as majority owner and CEO, he sold the company in 2000.
He also was the firm’s lead consultant, advising CEOs and senior and middle management on corporate strategy,
growth and profit maximization, and operational and human resources excellence. Bob has authored a variety of
articles and books. His 1993 book Double Your Profits received strong reviews throughout the business and popular
press, and became required reading for management at a wide variety of Fortune 500 companies, including General
Electric (where Jack Welch bought 3000 copies), Allied Signal, and Citicorp/Travelers Insurance. His 2007 book,
The Enlightened CEO: How to Succeed at the Toughest Job in Business (co-authored with Gordon Quick) has received
similarly glowing reviews.
Bob graduated from Harvard College in 1977 with a degree, magna cum laude, in economics, and from Harvard
Business School in 1979. From 1979 to 1982 he was an Officer of Strategic Planning Associates, a strategy consulting
firm. In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Fifer is General Partner of Kaiser Capital Fund, L.P., an investment fund,
and has served on a variety of Boards and Advisory Boards.
